The growing season in 2015 was precocious and warm with excellent conditions, Gregory said. There was no disease and the weather was perfect during flowering. There were three or four heat waves during spring and summer but we had rainfall at the good moments. Except for very young vines we did not observe hydric stress. We started the harvest 2 September. That is earlier than many years. We decided to harvest al dente to keep the vibrant acidity and well-balanced aromas and we finished on 11 or 12 September, he explained. I find that there are more phenolics in 2015 than in 2014. I think that 2015 is an excellent vintage for powerful terroirs like Montmains, Vaillons, Fourchaume and Les Clos.
